THE ISSUE

As with all gym & fitness businesses, reopening with reduced occupancy as low as 1 person per 100 square feet, meant limited income after a long period without any at all. Classes were on average 50% down for adult learners & 75% down for children. Not only does this have a limiting revenue effect on the business but also the interaction between peers in the class environment.

THE SOLUTION

Plasma Clean, a Signify partner, designed an appropriate unit layout and selected the required number Upper Room UVGI units to the gym training and boxing ring area. These passive UVGI devices, commissioned to ensure exposure limits for UV are not reached at occupant level, operate throughout classes to give equivalent fresh air changes and inactivate any infectious diseases in the space.

THE RESULT

By installing Upper Room UVGI product, MSA Stockport has been able to increase class sizes to pre-pandemic numbers, safeguarding against airborne transmissions.
