Lighter and less bulky than traditional discarb filters, our activated carbon filters can be used with ozone treatment to remove residual ozone before extraction and oxidise residual odour molecules that become trapped on the activated carbon surface.

Sitesafe Activated Carbon filters are the ideal choice for both odour and ozone control. Our Carbon Housing allows Activated Carbon fillters to sit in 3, 6 or 9 easily mountable Sitesafe Activated Carbon units.

This purifies the air to remove odours for a cleaner environment.

Activated Carbon Filter Maintenance & Servicing

Activated carbon filters work by adsorbing odour molecules and residual ozone as air passes through them — but that capacity is finite. Once the carbon media becomes saturated, it can no longer trap contaminants effectively, and cooking odours will begin to break through to the discharge point.

Staying on a regular replacement schedule is the only way to guarantee continued performance — and it’s a requirement of EMAQ+ guidance, which recommends exchanging activated carbon every 4–6 months.
