Retro-fit indoor air quality solutions

The ventilation system is the lungs of the building but how clean is it? Monitor your indoor air quality and optimise your air handling unit to deliver clean, safer air.

90% of our time is spent indoors. So the quality of our buildings has a real impact on our health. By improving your indoor air quality you can significantly improve the wellness of your employees, increase productivity and reduce sickness.

Our retrofit duct-mounted UVGI solutions can be installed in your existing ventilation system to help you achieve a happier and healthier environment whilst business owners can see the benefit of ongoing cost savings.

Our UVGI systems are based on established UVC dosage tables and certified through our independent laboratory testing.

Ultraviolet Light

What is Ultraviolet?

Ultraviolet light in the c-band range (225-302 nm) is commonly referred to as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), and is well known for its germ-zapping properties across water and surface treatment. Historically, airstream disinfection has proven less predictable due to underspecification of the UVC dosage and poor design.

How does UVGI work?

UVGI works by cross-linking the nucleic acids (DNA & RNA) which prevents the replication and growth of harmful micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria, spores, moulds, yeast and fungi. To achieve a high inactivation rate against these, it requires the correct effective UVC dosage.

Low-intensity vs High-intensity UVC

Low-intensity UVC can be used for surface treatment due to a long UVC exposure time. High-intensity UVC is needed for air treatment as the exposure time is short.

How to know what UV dosage is required?

The UV dosage to achieve microbial inactivation varies considerably depending on the micro-organism. For example, spore-forming microbes are more resilient to a UV attack than vegetative cells. This is because microbial spores are adapted to withstand extreme environments. However, vegetative cells, which grow and divide, will need water after germination of a new shoot. Generally speaking, viruses are highly susceptible to UV attacks.
