Here we explore why indoor air quality needs a proactive solution, rather than a reactive one.
Standalone Infection Control
Disinfect where it matters most
Our standalone Infection Control products are designed to disinfect air where it matters most, especially in the COVID era. Hospitals, surgeries, offices and communal spaces - through to the distribution centres and the food industry.
Plasma Clean have created a range of solutions to safeguard your building, your people and your business.
The benefits of standalone infection control
Highlighted by the coronavirus pandemic, we all recognise the need to keep keyworkers safe. And with our standalone AirKlean UVGI infection control offers a microbial kill rate for common microbes of up to 99+% in confined spaces such as hospital wards, operating theatres and waiting rooms, and across the food-supply chain.
And in the new normal, we’ve designed and specified our UVGI equipment to ensure that UVC doses equal or exceed those required for coronavirus treatment. Keeping our keyworkers at work and the public safe. Best of all, it works 24/7.
The RoomKlean UVGI is designed to safely irradiate the upper room of occupied spaces with UVGI; destroying viruses and bacteria which are transported into the upper room by natural convection currents or air circulation.
As a result, the RoomKlean UVGI turns the whole room into a completely silent air cleaner.
- Offers continuous, safe disinfection of harmful microbes
- Boasts a 99+% disinfection rate; including Covid-19
- Are low power, silent units
- Prevent any exposure of UVC light
- Low maintenance
- Protects buildings in all sectors.
AirKlean UVGI comes with two 95W UVC germicidal high-intensity lamps that wipe out airborne microbes such as viruses, bacteria, spores and mould. It’s a plug-and-play ceiling or wall-mounted unit with an internal fan.
- Disinfects 24/7
- Is plug-and-play
- Needs virtually no maintenance
- Eliminates expensive and damaging chemical cleaners
- Produces no ozone, so it’s harmless to health
- Covers up to 100-square-metres per unit.
The MobiKlean UVGI is the ideal solution for disinfecting rooms in a wide array of sectors and environments; including hospitals, offices and hotel rooms to name a few. Our portable and lightweight solution offers 99%+ disinfection rate of microorganisms such as bacteria, moulds, spores and a host of viruses including Covid-19.
- Can remove Covid-19 from a 160m2 in 11 minutes
- 99+% disinfection rate of unwanted microorganisms
- Remote control operation
- Motion sensor for extra safety
- Produces no ozone, so it’s harmless to health
- Is plug-and-play.

An Introduction to UVGI
Ultraviolet light in the c-band range (225–302 nm) is lethal to micro-organisms and is referred to as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI). It is well known for its germicidal – or germ killing – properties and is used extensively for water and surface treatment. Historically, airstream disinfection has proven less predictable. This is due to underspecifying the UVC dosage and poor design. UVGI works by cross linking the nucleic acids (DNA & RNA) which prevents replication and proliferation of micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria, spores, moulds, yeast and fungi. It is important to use the correct UVC dosage in order to achieve high kill rates.
Low intensity UVC can be used for surface treatment as there is a long UVC exposure time whereas high intensity UVC is required for air treatment as the exposure time is short.
The UV dosage to achieve microbial kill varies considerably between micro-organisms, with spore-forming microbes being more resilient to UV attack than vegetative cells, for example. Microbial spores are akin to plant seeds and are adapted to withstand extreme environments whereas so-called vegetative cells are those which grow and divide – a plant seed can survive in, and actually requires, dry conditions whereas the vegetative new shoot after germination requires water.
